To me, I'm talking about bloggers who pour their heart and soul into their\nblogs. Those who are trusted, respected and natural born leaders. Those who\nencourage us to kick ass.\n\nThe most influential money bloggers aren't necessarily those with the biggest\nblogs, \"best\" blogs or the largest bankrolls. Their blogs aren't necessarily\n\"businesses\". Being influential usually implies a level of trust and authority\nthat is built over time, through consistent activity (in this case, publishing\nblog posts) that incite a huge and dedicated following.\n\nIn this article, I'm picking out the top 12 most influential bloggers in the\npersonal finance community, and providing a little detail about what we can all\nlearn from them.\n\n12 of the most influential money bloggers\n1. Pete Adeney (Mr. Money Mustache)\nMr. Money MustacheLove him or hate him, Pete Adeney, the Colorado-based guy\nbehind Mr. Money Mustache (MMM) is by far the most influential personal finance\nblogger that I've ever seen. Many personal finance and money bloggers (including\nme) point to Mr. Money Mustache as their inspiration for starting their own\nmoney blog. His writing style is unique. He cusses a lot. Everybody knows Mr.\nMoney Mustache and his absolute hatred for cars (even though he's quite obsessed\nwith them).\n\nWe learn from Pete how to think differently. His blog is a\nhit-you-squarely-in-the-face shot to conventional wisdom. If you've heard the\nterm \"clown car habit\", that's a phrase that MMM used to epic success\n[http://www.mrmoneymustache.com/2013/04/22/curing-your-clown-like-car-habit/].\n\"After years of careful study, observations, and interviews with real car\ndrivers\", Pete writes, \"I have come to the conclusion that about 90% of the car\nuse that occurs in the United States is Pure Bullshit\".\n\nIf you are easily offended, don't read Mr. Money Mustache because you'll\nprobably end up very much offended. If you like the challenge of reading a\ncontrarian viewpoint, then totally binge read his entire blog...if you have the\ntime.\n\nVisit: MrMoneyMustache.com [http://www.mrmoneymustache.com].\n\n2. J. Money (Budgets Are Sexy)\nJay (on the right) being interviewed at FinCon...yup, in the bathroomJ. Money\nwon a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Plutus Awards\n[https://www.plutusawards.com/2017/where-are-they-now-6/] ceremony at FinCon (a\nfinancial conference designed for money bloggers) in 2016, and for good reason.\nJay is one of the most well-known money bloggers in the business and runs one of\nthe most fun blogs in town at BudgetsAreSexy.com. Sporting a mohawk in public,\nhe is almost one of the most recognizable figures in the money blogosphere.\n\nJay founded the RockstarFinance.com curation website (sold to ESI, referenced\nbelow) and is routinely mentioned in major media outlets like Business Insider\nand Forbes. Jay is just as influential as Pete from Mr. Money Mustache but in a\nmuch more positive and less smack-you-in-the-face kind of way.  :)\n\nI personally know Jay to be an incredible person with a kind heart and\ninfectious personality. Just like his blog, he's the kind of guy that walks into\na room and people seem to be drawn to him (that could just be the Mohawk, but\nstill...).\n\nVisit: BudgetsAreSexy.com [http://www.budgetsaresexy.com/].\n\n3. J (Millennial Boss)\nJ paid off over $100,000 in debt early in life and is a go-to source for debt\nreduction and a truly insightful look at personal finance.\n\nJ, who professes a love for *iced* coffee, has built up over 200-grand by the\nage of 27 and stands as a perfect example of what can be done when you're\nmotivated and determined. Her blog's focus is debt relief and offers stories of\nhope from people around the world who struggle with debt.\n\nShe also co-hosts a podcast called FIRE Drill [https://firedrillpodcast.com/].\n\nVisit: MillennialBoss.com [https://millennialboss.com/].\n\n4.
